Claire joined Stephens in 2023. She provides a broad range of legal advice to two of the firm’s largest clients, providing support with intellectual property, marketing, events and data protection, and drafting, negotiating and advising on service provider and supplier agreements.
Claire regularly spends time in-house with one of our longest-standing clients where she advises the business on a variety of legal issues (ranging from IT, e-commerce, distribution, logistics, and licensing agreements to consumer issues, and influencer arrangements) and provides in-house legal support to the senior leadership team.
Claire has significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and has advised clients in a wide range of sectors (including FMCG, fashion, retail, media and entertainment) on brand strategy, brand protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Claire graduated from the University of Waikato in New Zealand with a BSocSci (double major in Psychology and Geography), before relocating to the UK. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Claire gained over 16 years of in-house legal experience in the publishing and brand licensing industries. Claire obtained a distinction in her LPC and trained at a top London firm. Post-qualification, Claire joined a specialist IP firm and obtained a merit in the Oxford PG Dip in Intellectual Property Law and Practice.
